TexcelTel’s commitment in protecting your privacy

We, TexcelTel Communications Pty Ltd (hereafter “TexcelTel”), are bound by and recognise our obligations in protecting your personal information in accordance with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 .

TexcelTel is committed to the protection of your privacy. TexcelTel has developed detailed standards, procedures and take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, misuse, modify or disclosure.

Your personal information

Your personal information obtained by TexcelTel for the purpose of providing the Services includes, but not limited to, your name, date of birth, address, contact details (phone or mobile or email address), banking details, occupations, driver license number, your TexcelTel username and password.

Your personal information will strictly be used for identification, account, billing and other purposes relating to the provision of the Services . TexcelTel may not be able to provide you the Services you have requested if you choose not to provide all or some of these essential information.

Collecting your personal information

TexcelTel may collect your personal information:

      • Directly from you over the phone or from your submitted Application form, both on-line and off-line, for the Services with TexcelTel;
      • From third parties companies such as credit providers, credit reporting agencies, reseller of telecommunication services, Government agencies which administer the laws regulating telecommunication service provider, or complaint processes established under those laws.
      • From our own records or databases with regarding to your usage history or
      • From publicly available resources.

Use of your personal information

TexcelTel is committed to the protection of your privacy. We do not sell, trade or deal with your personal information in anyway which may disadvantage you.

TexcelTel may use your personal information for the following , but not limited to, purposes:

      • assisting you with your service request;
      • processing your Application;
      • supplying the Services you require;
      • assisting you to get the most out of your service;
      • investigation or fixing fault in relation the service;
      • management and administration of the service such as billing, charging and debt collection;
      • perform credit check for credit worthiness and for fraud;
      • inform you with our new products and services;
      • inform your with our special products and services offering;
      • conduct researches and communicate with you to gain an understanding of how we could provide you with a continuous service improvement.

Information disclosure

To enable TexcelTel to deliver the service you required, TexcelTel may disclose your personal information to third party companies or contractors strictly on a need-to-know basis and for the sole purpose of providing the Services including:
      • installation, service maintenance or repair;
      • mailing operation;
      • billing or debt recovery functions;
      • marketing, telemarketing services;
      • Market research.

TexcelTel also may disclose your personal information to a credit reporting agency, for the following purposes:

      • Credit Provider  for related credit purposes such as credit checking, rating, credit provision and financing;
      • Credit reporting  and fraud checking agencies;
      • Government agencies and authorities and other organisations as required by law;
      • Your representative or your legal advisers when requested by you.

The information is limited to:

  • identity particulars - your name, sex, address (and the previous two addresses) date of birth, name of employer, and drivers licence number.
  • your application for credit or commercial credit - the fact that you have applied for credits with TexcelTel.
  • the fact that Texceltel is a current credit provider to you.
  • payments which are overdue by more than 60 days, and for which debt collection action has started.
  • advice that your payments are no longer overdue in respect of any default that has been listed.
  • information that, in the opinion of TexcelTel  you have committed a serious credit infringement (that is, fraudulently or shown an intention not to comply with your credit obligations).
  • dishonoured cheques - cheques drawn by you for $100 or more which have been dishonoured more than once.
  • that credit provided to you by TexcelTel has been paid or otherwise discharged.

This information may be given before, during or after the provision of  services to you. All third party companies to which TexcelTel contracts services or discloses your personal information, are bound by the privacy protection provisions in the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and/or have signed with TexcelTel a confidentiality agreement.

 Accessing your personal information

In most cases, you have the right to access to your personal information held by TexcelTel at all time, except in some circumstances where the laws or regulations require otherwise.

Under the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, your identification must be verified before you are able to access your personal information held by us.
